Frankham Risk Management Services (FRMS) have been appointed to assist in Legionella services for the London Borough of Sutton.
Under the terms of the Approved Code of Practice and guidance “Legionnaires’ disease, the control of legionella bacteria in water systems” (L8) from the Health and Safety Executive.
In 2010 we carried out risk assessments to a large number of corporate properties including Schools, Offices, Libraries, Depots, Leisure Centres, Life / Inclusion centres and more recently allotments. Risk assessments for specific properties (such as Hallmead Leisure Centre) included significantly greater detail on water quality to assist in understanding the risks presented by certain equipment (Spa-pools).
Works were conducted within a strict timetable and reports were delivered in batches over the schedule, all reports were provided within the prescribed timescales and budget. The works involved extensive liaison with site contacts and involved working in occupied environments.
Finally, training services were designed and provided to give site staff a practical understanding of Legionnaires’ disease; courses were made specific to Sutton’s Control of Legionella policy/procedure and included a brief element of practical work (measuring, flushing etc).
